All of my life there was a dog around. My father worked in the research department of the hospital. He had an eye for a well bred dog. Whenever he knew one was going to be experimented on he would bring the dog home. Sometimes it would be a lady in waiting and before I knew it we'd have puppies everywhere. We had German Shepherds, Collies and even a Boxer. One thing my father instilled in me was all animals just need to be loved.
